About corporate greetings season
That’s for sure a wierd genre. Being a good marketinger, let’s start with the message and target group. Well, the target audience is: those companies and institues who are the clients or prospects of our… er… what am I saying?! A limited company wishes merry xmas to a corporation? What the hell (sorry, it’s Xmas). Anyway. Start over with the message then: Wishing you a warm and joyful Merry Christmas! – like our children say… but…er… what if the addresse is not catholic or even not christian? I mean the addresse the person… or… seeing the geography of the place of foundation…
So then. Businesses to send greetings to businesses for an occasion that is nothing to do with business. Or businesses. So why to do that? Because we are HUMANS. We are all people behind, and people celebrate all around. No matters what religion we belong to, no matters if it snows where we are or if pine tree is a common symbol. Personal communication went global and etiquette couldn’ follow. Every one of us wants to let the others know that even if we are working at some company, we are still human beings. It’s a great thing to know that Naomi notices I am a person, not only interested in the next cocoa supply. I want to virtually hug Jürgen and order a beer for him. Well, I should know how the others celebrate but there’s no time to know within the year during working hours.
Therefore there’s no universal message and global target audience. There are persons talking to persons. Tell somehow that you see people beyond business relations. Wish him or her what he or she would like for himself or herself – or at least you personally would like to be wished. Well, and don’t forget to send the corporate creative provided by your HR or Marketing dept. leader. But it will mean nothing without your personal thoughts addressed for him or her. Without your personality it will become a chat between businesses or between machines.
Vilma says… what?
I wish to all the people I work or will work with, to step away from business and workstation for a while and to be with their loved ones. I mean this is not Vilma says, this is what me, Miklos Szolas “Angerless” says. Because Vilma cannot afford to stop even for a while, when she’s just under construction. She will have to work hard through Xmas if there is a single client who needs her hours to fulfill business needs. No company to close for Christmas, no business to hold, and Vilma has a huge backlog to earn the money to spend of my gifts to give away. However, I wish ourselves people to calm down, to hold our celebration routines whatever they are, to have peace at the brightest place for us.
